escape the lab
This is an endless side scroller. Fly around a flock of monster things with your cursor, eat scientists, and avoid traps. Click to split into smaller clones of yourself.
This is my second game jam entry https://itch.io/jam/scorejam16
Still haven't learned how to use any game engines ..... just made it in html5 + javascript with p5.js again and howler.js for sound, which means I had to code the physics engine myself, so please don't mind if stuff is glitchy
Oh, and I don't know how to make online leaderboards, and I don't want to deal with it, so I just save the high score locally.
I made the art in Microsoft Paint 3D (hence the brilliantly gorgeous graphics)
I also made the music in FL Studio
I got all the sound effects from https://freesound.org

i let my brother play it and realized that it might not have been clear that there is no advantage to having bigger clones; the point of the mechanic is to keep a large number of small clones so the traps can't kill all of them at once!!
I like the game, good job, good humor. I feel the controls are REALLY hard, can't get a good run (but maybe I just suck at it). Nice.
Wow! The art may not look too gorgeous at the first look, but I think the presentation overall is top notch. The snappiness of the traps' movement & the screenshakes combined with nice sound effects and weirdly fitting music...
I think it feels a bit hard to play, even my "better" runs felt as if I died pretty quickly. But it was fun :)
thank you! i'm not very good at making graphics, so i tried to focus more on fast-paced traps and effects ... might have made it a bit too difficult :p
Love the game, Love the gameplay overall, you choose the right music , i will improve the art, but i get that it make sense this way , good work
thanks!! yeah, i am more of a musician than an visual artist
